GoMeasure Platform runs GoMeasure Campus — a talent network for final-year students and new graduates, where what you can do is measured from real work rather than claimed on a CV.
We’re looking for Technical Sales / Application Engineers to join this network ahead of the placement cycle. Support the sale of technical products — specification, fit and application to the customer's problem.
You’ll take one qualification test covering product knowledge, application reasoning, communication, build a verified profile, and go to the employers hiring into this track — typically ₹3.5–9 LPA at entry level.
Role summary
Support the sale of technical products — specification, fit and application to the customer's problem.
What you will do
In the first six months
- Learn the product line and, harder, what it is actually used for on a customer's floor
- Size and specify — read a customer's requirement and work out which configuration meets it
- Visit sites with a senior engineer and find out why the specification on paper was wrong
- Prepare quotations, technical submittals and the comparison sheet against a competitor
By twelve to eighteen months
- Own a territory, a product line or a set of accounts
- Handle application problems independently — commissioning queries, failures, misapplication
- Move toward sales management, product management or applications engineering leadership
Required skills
Product and application knowledgeSpecifications, ratings, limits, and what happens when a customer runs the product outside them. Earned on site, not from the catalogue.
Engineering fundamentalsYour own discipline's basics, used daily and in front of customers who know them. Being wrong in a meeting costs more here than in most entry roles.
Commercial arithmeticMargins, landed cost, lead times, total cost of ownership. The engineer who can run the number wins the argument.
Communication and listeningMost of the job is understanding a problem described imprecisely by someone busy.
PersistenceLong cycles, repeat visits, orders lost for reasons unrelated to you. The temperament matters more than the technique.
Travel tolerancePlants, sites and dealers. Say so honestly at interview if that is not for you.
Disposition & traits
Skills describe what someone can do when they try hardest. Disposition describes what they typically do — and over a first year, that second question predicts as much as the first. For this track the dispositions that matter most are:
- Conscientiousness
- Emotional stability
- Challenging constructively
How to read these. Higher is not automatically better — a disposition that helps in one role works against another. These are not a pass mark, not trainable in the way a skill is, and never reported on their own.
What the hiring bar looks like
Compiled by GoMeasure from publicly available accounts, October 2026.
Equipment & component manufacturersTechnical fundamentals in your branch, then a conversation about handling a customer. Many run a six to twelve month structured programme — product training, then plant and site rotation, then a territory.
Distributors, dealers & system integratorsThe highest volume and the most accessible entry. Lighter technical screening, heavier weight on whether you will travel and whether you can hold a conversation.
Eligibility — who actually gets to apply
Genuinely open to tier-2 and tier-3 colleges and to all core engineering branches, which makes it one of the more reachable tracks in this domain. Read the pay structure carefully: a meaningful part of the package is usually variable, plus a travel or conveyance allowance, so the fixed component can sit well below the headline CTC. A two-wheeler or driving licence is a stated requirement more often than you would expect.
Eligibility is set per drive and your placement cell’s notice is what actually applies on your campus. One trap worth knowing: a 6.0 CGPA is not always 60%. Where a university converts with (CGPA − 0.75) × 10, a 6.0 is 52.5% — below most employers’ floor. Check which formula yours uses before assuming you qualify.
And on the package: CTC is not take-home. A ₹4 LPA offer lands nearer ₹28,000–32,000 a month once provident fund, gratuity and tax come out, and offers with a large variable or joining-bonus component differ more again. Compare offers on fixed monthly pay, not on the headline. On-campus mass recruiters rarely move off a standard package; startups, GCCs and mid-size firms hiring off-campus often have some room.
Who should apply
Graduates whose degree and interests line up with the work above. Eligibility aside, employers in this track screen on demonstrated capability more than on which campus you attended.
This role is probably not for you if you want to design rather than apply. This role lives at the customer's problem, not at the drawing board — though it is one of the better ways to learn what the drawing board got wrong.
Evaluation notice
Results are shared with the student and, with consent, with employers hiring into this track. Scores carry the evidence and the assessment date. Practice and assessed sessions are clearly distinguished before either begins.
